Format of competition

Qualification rounds:
Both individual and team completion are required for the competitions. In the 50m events, if entries exceed the expected number, elimination rounds shall be conducted.

Final rounds:
Every Olympic competition will take place as a final. The eight shooters scoring the best in the rifle and pistol solo preliminary stages advance to the finals. The six-shooters with the highest possible scores in the men’s Rapid Fire Pistol and shotgun events advance to the finals. The non-Olympic events shall be without the final rounds.

The initial rounds’ outcomes chart, knockout level results, and qualification level records will be used to rank the team competitions.Shooters are required to indicate on the registration forms which category they will be competing in—individual, group, or both.
